Application for PIP Fellowship Travel Funding for Residents of the Pacific Islands to the PacINET Conference in Solomon Islands, August 2007
This application is for partial funding for travel to the PacINET1 Conference to be held in Honiara, Solomon Islands between August 15st and August 24th 2007.
Please provide the following information:
- Applicant’s details including name, postal address, fax number, e-mail address, etc.
- Current employment
- Estimate of costs (this means the applicant must find out their travel costs prior to application and these costs are to be inclusive of all visa, insurance and associated costs). All figures to be in New Zealand Dollars. Figures should be based on least expensive and most direct routing available.
- Endorsement of the applicant by the local IT society (where one exists) or appropriate Government Ministry or Chamber of Commerce or similar body where a local IT Society does not exist. NB: The endorser can endorse more than one applicant.
- Previous participation experience at a PacINET Conference and, if any, how information learned has benefited your country.
- Statement as to how the program will benefit the applicant and their country.
- Statement as to how the applicant will share their knowledge upon return.
- Full details of how and where to transfer the funds – including bank account numbers, names and bank’s SWIFT wire transfer instructions. (You will need to get this from your bank.)
NB: Funds are only available to residents in the Pacific Islands and that funds are limited.
Also note that PIP is very keen to see the establishment and success of local computer societies and, toward that end, will be organising some workshops for local computer societies. PIP Fellows will be expected to participate in these workshops.

Partial funding will be up to 50% of the costs where one or more third-parties (employers, etc.) make up the difference. Partial funding will be up to 90% where the remainder of the costs are provided by the individual attending.
